As a substantial investor, supplier, and end-user in the Australian petroleum sector, Freedom Fuels respects performance with responsibility, taking a lead role in the development and implementation of effective carbon reduction solutions.

With global acceptance of climate change there has come a substantial shift in corporate, community and government thinking, driven by the recognition of new market opportunities and the need to manage climate change risk.

At present, 65% of Freedom Fuels Queensland customers choose to use renewable fuel alternatives, contributing to the saving over 4000 tonnes of greenhouse emissions, compared to choosing 100% fossil fuels.  

To match the enthusiasm displayed by our customers, Freedom Fuels intends to reduce emissions across its operations by:

• Offering renewable fuel alternatives to their Victorian customers with a target to reduce greenhouse emissions by 5000 tonnes per month by June 2008.
• Committing to using renewable resources and alternatives when replacing fittings and fixtures in existing or new stores and offices.
• Continuing to reduce emissions dispersed through the excessive use of finite resources such as electricity, gas, and fossil fuels.
• Recycling whenever and wherever we can.
• Commitment to achieving membership status with the Australian Greenhouse Challenge Plus Program and the Australian Building Greenhouse Rating Scheme.
• Performance with responsibility through our Freedom Fuels Environmental Policy.
